The Way Chris Sees Life.

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

What Chris wants to get across is that everybody is forced to live a safe life a life where everyday is a routine. Boring, risk free and the same as the day before. He believes that each person should have an adventure and go out of the normal. Everyone should a different experience each day because everyday thats the same is boring and safe. Experience the risk of life, be happy with your life. Happiness comes from the different things that happen everyday. Chris is right. People that are not happy with their lives don't change them because they become use to their lives but thats not living at all. People need to experience new things, enjoy the wonders of life. Live life to the fulliest.

Chris embraced this by leaving everything in his life and going on his own. Shutting everyone off and just living his life the way he wanted to live it. Chris had canoed his way into Mexico even though he got lost he kept going. He had risked going on to strangers cars! He meet so many people who had grown to love him but he left before he cared to much. He didnt want to become attached.

My life has been conditioned to a life of security, conformity and conservation because everything is given to me. I do what is expected never what I want. I go by the rules and play it safe. I don't take risks I do what is safe. If i meet Chris I know he would ask why? Why do I do whats safe? Why do I live this way? The safe way. He would probably encourage me to take risks, to go on an adventure, to be free and to do what I want. To do what I've always wanted to do. To live my life not the life people expect and want me to live.
